Aggressive reassessment leveling/table

If your school or district has elected to recommend "aggressive" re-assessments--that is, to re-assess every time a student moves levels--then the chart below applies:

Please note:

• If your district uses an aggressive re-assessment table, Literably will not use an asterisk (*) to indicate whether or not a student's instructional level is being estimated.  Instead, when a teacher sees that a student is being recommended to reassess, that is a signal that the student's current instructional level is being estimated.  If a teacher sees that a student is NOT being recommended for reassessment, then that is a signal that the student's current instructional level has been confirmed (i.e., is not being estimated).   

Exceptions:

1. Student has passed a level and established a "floor:" if a student has already passed a reading level and established a "floor," Literably will not recommend a downward aggressive reassessment at that floor level, even if a student performed poorly at a level above that floor level.  For example:
   • If a student reads a level M text at an instructional level (e.g., 91% accuracy and 60% comprehension; see yellow cells above), that creates a "floor" at level M for that student.
   • If that student then reads at Level N with 86% accuracy and 60% comprehension (i.e. red cell above), the following things will happen:
     • Literably will automatically move the student's Next Assessment level down to level M.
     • Literably will NOT recommend an aggressive reassessment at level M (i.e., a reassessment icon will not display on the teacher dashboard for that student).

2. Student is struggling on level A (and B): If a student has not passed a level A assessment but her teacher had her take a level B assessment, Literably will not recommend an aggressive reassessment if the student does not also pass level B.
3. Student was recently given a +0 or downward leveling recommendation: If in the past two weeks, a student was given a +0 or downward recommendation (by Literably) to a particular level, regardless of how well they do on an assessment (e.g., at level M):
   • The student's upward recommendations will be capped at +1 above that level (e.g., will be capped at level N).
   • The student will not be recommended for reassessment at that level.
