What is the Literably RAN (Rapid Automatized Naming) Assessment?

Literably RAN is a brief computer-administered screener (takes an average of 6 minutes to complete) that measures students’ ability to quickly name aloud a series of familiar items from an array – specifically objects, colors, letters, and numbers. RAN tasks are often used as an indicator of risk in dyslexia screening, alongside assessments of phonological awareness. Here is a brief demo:
