The Comprehension Standards that Literably Assesses Follow
1. Common Core State Standards
Each multiple-choice comprehension question in Literably is written to assess at least one Common Core State Standard. As we write questions for a specific text, we refer to the CCSS Literature and Informational Text standards for that grade level. These grade-level standards are variations on the College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards for Reading. Teachers can use the comprehension tracker feature to see how students are performing on each standard. (Note: Please see #2 at the bottom of this article if you use TEKS standards.)
College and Career Readiness Anchor Standards for Reading

| CCRA.R.1 | Detail | Read closely to determine what the text says explicitly and to make logical inferences from it. |
| CCRA.R.2 | Main Idea | Determine central ideas or themes of a text and analyze their development. |
| CCRA.R.3 | Chronology | Analyze how and why individuals, events or ideas develop and interact over the course of a text. |
| CCRA.R.4 | Meaning | Interpret words and phrases as they are used in a text. |
| CCRA.R.5 | Structure | Analyze the structure of texts, including how specific sentences, paragraphs and larger portions of the text relate to each other and the whole. |
| CCRA.R.6 | Purpose | Assess how point of view or purpose shapes the content and style of a text. |
| CCRA.R.7 | Media | Integrate and evaluate content presented in diverse media and formats, including visually and quantitatively. |
| CCRA.R.8 | Argument | Delineate and evaluate the argument and specific claims in a text, including the validity of the reasoning as well as the relevance and sufficiency of the evidence. |

2. Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)
Literably's multiple-choice comprehension questions are also aligned to the TEKS standards. Schools/districts that use TEKS have the option of displaying correlations with these standards, rather than the CCSS above, in the comprehension tracker.
