How do I use Literably over the summer? Follow
Overview: Literably's graphs, rostering system, and data exports are all designed around a regular school year calendar. Attempting to use your Literably subscription over the summer months without notifying us is not recommended. If your school or district is operating a Summer School, please email us at support@literably.com and we will set you up with a separate summer school account.
Clever
If your district wishes to roster its students via Clever over the summer, below are a few Clever Help Center articles that may be useful to review:
- Clever: Preparing for Summer School
- Clever: Pausing your District's SIS Data Sync
- Clever: Custom Data - Overview and Management
- Literably: How to Implement Clever
If you're using Clever during the summer, the main decision your district will need to make is whether or not you want to "Pause your Sync" for Summer School (which is Clever's default). If possible, it is highly recommended that you Pause your Sync unless you anticipate that your students in Literably will change frequently (via your SIS) during the summer months.
ClassLink via OneRoster
If your district wishes to roster its students via ClassLink over the summer, below is a ClassLink Help Center article that may be useful to review:
If you're using ClassLink during the summer, you will need to keep up-to-date rosters for summer school. It would be best to only sync summer school based classes and not share non-summer school based classes.
What happens to rosters over the summer?
If Literably receives an automated data feed from your student information system (via Clever or OneRoster), we will start pulling rostering data from the new school year after July 15, so class lists from the previous year may no longer be visible after this date.
If you upload rosters using manual CSV rostering, then in the Northern Hemisphere, class lists will be automatically archived on July 15. In the Southern Hemisphere, they will be archived on January 1. After these dates, you are free to upload rosters for the following school year.
What should teachers do if they need to access their students' data during the summer?
If you think you might need access to your students' Literably data during the summer, it is recommended that you download a data export before July 15. Please refer to this article for more details.
