What are the High Frequency Words in Literably Texts? Follow
A PDF of the top 30 frequent words from our Level A-D (i.e., Kindergarten) texts is attached to the bottom of this article. Proper nouns were excluded from this list.
For a more granular view of the words in our Kindergarten texts, select the link below to a dashboard presenting this information: Kindergarten Word Frequency List for Literably Texts
The intent of this dashboard is to help set your students' "Next Assessment" text based on your classroom's data. The dashboard is designed for you to visualize the words in our texts so students are encountering grapheme-to-phoneme correspondences you explicitly taught and/or wish to assess.
We included some images and details regarding the dashboards below. Here are some terms used:
Term/Image | Definition |
Word | The word that appears in our texts |
Frequency | The total number of times a word appears in our texts |
Amount of Texts | The total number of our texts (i.e., levels A-D) that the word appears |
Word with Feature | The word with the specific feature (e.g., 'sh') you specified. Aka "patterns" |
The darker the color, the more frequent the word. The lighter the color, the less frequent the word. |
This dashboard identifies the following in our Level A-D texts:
1.) The most frequently used words
2.) Words appearing more than 4 times per text
3.) Words appearing 4 times or less per text
4.) The frequency of words within an individual text
5.) Locate texts using a specific spelling pattern (e.g., the texts and words containing the digraph 'sh')
This dashboard is dynamic; data and graphs will update based on what you click.
