Literably's Leveling Criteria/Table: How Does Literably Re-Level Students (Grade Levels)?

Note: if your district/school uses A-Z levels, please use this table.

After a student's assessment has been graded, Literably will automatically select a level for the student's "Next Assessment" using the below table.

Key:

1. The above grid refers to how Literably determines the level that students should read at during their next Literably assessment.

2. If a student reads with at least 95% accuracy and at least ⅗ comprehension, Literably will increase the student's Next Assessment level.

3. If a student reads with 90-94% accuracy and at least ⅗ comprehension, Literably will keep the student at that level. At this point, we can confirm the student's instructional grade-level. Example: If a student reads a level 1.2 text with 91% accuracy and ⅗ comprehension, we can confirm their instructional grade-level is at level 1.2 (see yellow cells).

4. If a student reads with below 90% accuracy and/or below ⅗ comprehension, Literably will decrease the student's Next assessment level.

5. On top of that, if a student does very well or very poorly, Literably will suggest re-assessment at their new level. If the student has a more moderate outcome, Literably will not call for a reassessment, but you can choose to reassess the student.
