How can I set up school and district admins via Clever? Follow
There are two types of admin roles in Literably: district admins and school admins. These roles are described in more detail here.
If your district/school rosters using Clever, the recommended way to set up admins in Literably is to create and share them via Clever. This allows these individuals to log into Literably via Clever SSO, and any changes to their status or school site will sync automatically to Literably.
Creating School Admins
Method #1 (Recommended): To create a school admin in Literably, we recommend setting up the individual in Clever as staff and then a "school tech lead" using these directions. Once this is done, please update your sharing permissions to share this staff member with Literably.
After the nightly Clever sync, or after pushing a manual sync, the individual should be able to log into Literably via Clever SSO and view the dashboards of all teachers at their school.
Method #2: If the individual cannot be set up as a school tech lead but is being shared with Literably as a teacher, then Literably users with district admin privileges can manually elevate the person to school admin. To do this, navigate to "Manage Admins" by clicking on your email:
On the next page, you can see a list of admins and add admins as needed:
Because these admin statuses will not be synced via Clever, the only way to remove that admin's status will be to edit their admin privileges (see screenshot below). This may be necessary if the user moves to a different school or no longer needs admin privileges:
Method #3 (Least Recommended): If the individuals who need to become school admins cannot be set up and shared through Clever, please email support@literably.com with their name and email. We can set up their school admin accounts manually, and they can log in at literably.com/login with their email and assigned password. These school admins will not be able to login via Clever SSO, and if they no longer need admin privileges, you will need to contact Literably to have their accounts updated manually.
Creating District Admins
Method #1: If an individual has one of the "district admin roles" in Clever, they will be set up as a district admin in Literably, with the ability to see teachers for the entire district and run district-level reports.
Method #2: If there are limitations to creating district admins in Clever, please contact support@literably.com, and we can help to set up your district admins manually.
