When to Reassess on Literably's Fluency Assessment Follow
Overview (and overview video): Once your students have assessed, you will receive a notification email within 24 hours with your students' results. Literably will also post the results to your teacher dashboard.
In order for Literably to identify students' accurate reading levels, some of your students may need to reassess. In particular, students who:
- Did not submit a gradable assessment (due to background noise, whispering, etc).
- Did very well or struggled on their assessment (and so may be far from their reading levels). These students' scores fell into a range that contains the word "re-assess" on Literably's leveling criteria/table, and they are automatically re-leveled based on this table.
How do I know who has been recommended for reassessment?
The students who are recommended for reassessment are listed in the results notification email, and they're marked with the reassessment icon () on your teacher dashboard:
This reassessment icon is just a recommendation, and it is ultimately up to you as the teacher to decide whether to reassess a student. Similarly, if a student does not have a reassessment recommendation, you can still feel free to reassess that student if the additional data would be useful.
How do I reassess students?
To reassess a student, you just need to prompt them to log back into Literably and take another assessment. (Students will not receive any notifications from Literably asking them to reassess.) Literably will have already moved each student to an appropriate level/text for reassessment, but you also have the option of manually adjusting the level/text under the "Next Assessment" column of your dashboard.
